Once we have set up your FREE TRIAL hearing aids, we can move through to our SOUND EXPERIENCE SUITE and try out your new hearing with some real background noise, and also test how you will hear the TV. These are the devices ready to try out on your visit:
The Phonak TV Connector
The tiny little box fits onto the back of your TV. It is designed for the PHONAK AUDEO B-DIRECT. It can be powered through a standard power lead or directly from the USB socket on your TV. It connects to your TV audio through the optical socket. This means that using a soundbar as well will be tricky.
To pair the hearing aids to the connector is very straight forward. You can then activate the stereo streaming directly to your aids by a button press (on one of your aids) or it can be set to automatic detection – this means as soon as you go near your TV, stereo streaming begins. The streaming sound quality can be fine-tuned to perfection by your audiologist.
The Oticon TV Connector
The Oticon Connectline 3.0 Dolby works with the OTICON OPN. It connects to your TV audio through the optical socket. The great advantage of this gadget is that it has an OPTICAL OUT & an OPTICAL IN socket. That means a Sound Bar can be incorporated into the system.
It is very easy to pair the hearing aids to the connector. You can then activate the stereo streaming directly to your aids by a button press (on one of your aids) or by selecting on your ON APP. The sound quality can be fine-tuned to perfection by your audiologist.
A typical SoundBar
We have a large flat screen TV with a powerful soundbar so you can hear for yourself what sort of a difference this would make with your TV and your hearing of it.
A Nearby Bluetooth Speaker
A very simple way to solve your TV listening issues. The Avantree Oasis plugs into the USB socket of your TV (for its power) and the Optical socket for its sound. The Oasis makes linking a Bluetooth speaker up very easy. Place your chosen speaker close to you, and your TV hearing is fixed! We can recommend where to source these items. The Oasis costs about £50 and a decent speaker will cost around £40.
The Oticon ConnectClip
The new OTICON CONNECTCLIP has 3 functions. One is to enable stereo music and call streaming from Android phones. Also, it can be used as a remote mic – that might mean that your spouse wears this to allow for direct streaming of voice to aids, Or it could be placed next to a speaker or in the middle of a table. Its third and most interesting use, incorporating a custom-designed Bluetooth dongle, allows for audio streaming from a laptop or desktop PC.
The Phonak DECT II landline phone
This phone connects directly to your Phonak AUDEO B and V hearing aids (not the DIRECT version). It behaves like a normal phone with other users and requires no set up. For you, the hearing aid user, the sound quality is superb. Your confidence in taking calls will excel.
The Siemens GIGASET landline phone
We have discovered that this series of phones can be connected to the PHONAK AUDEO B-DIRECT. We can demonstrate this to you.
Domestic Loop System
A tried-and-tested way of getting your TV sound to your hearing aids. A thin cable is laid around the circumference of the room, or, from the unit straight to a pad that is placed under your chair.
